This brief article is about how a seafarer can apply for an Oral Examination in Malaysia.

Important: No seafarer (Malaysian or Non-Malaysia) is allowed to apply for Oral Examination if he/she has not completed Competency Courses by Maritime Education & Training Institutions in Malaysia (click here to see the list of the METIs)

The list below is the examination syllabus according to competency that has been published by the Marine Department Malaysia.

ReplyDeleteI was planning to buy a boat for fishing trip business(<500GT), but so many requirement from Jabatan Laut, First thing first, i have to have a Kad Pelaut, then i have to apply for the COC before i can register my boat, but the COC required to attend courses & must have sea time, what is your advise..i dont have problems if it is a short courses, what kind of the module for the minimum requirement only for Helsman to drive a small boat. Thank you in advanced...Razlee
You may consider to hire a seafarer as a master who has a valid COC.

Expired on 2010.
How do i renew that?
