Master of less than 500GT Domestic Trade Voyages

To obtain this Certificate, one must holding the Mate Domestic certificate and have serve in that capacity for a period of time.

1) Course to be attended

• Master of less than 500GT Domestic Trade Voyages
• Restricted Operator’s Certificate (GMDSS-ROC)
• Efficiency in Survival Craft Certificate
• Advance Fire Fighting Certificate
• Medical First Aid Certificate
• Radar Operator Certificate

2) Sea time – 12 Month seatime as Mate Domestic

• Discharge book is the document proof that only be accepted by the authority during the application.

3) Apply for Oral Examination to Marine Department & Passed

4) Apply for Certificate of Competency to Marine Department

COC Grade:

• Master of less than 500GT Near Coastal Trade Voyages

Capacity & Limitation:

• Master- Less than 500GT Domestic Voyage
• Mate -Less than 500GT Domestic Voyage

5) Apply for Endorsement of Certificate of Competency

Requirement for Endorsement of Certificate

• Holding COC of Master of less than 500 GT Domestic Trade Voyages
• Restricted Operator’s Certificate (GMDSS-ROC)
• 12 month Sea Time as Master Domestic

Certificate of Competency Issued:

COC Grade:

• Master of less than 500GT Near Coastal Trade Voyages (Endorsement)

Capacity & Limitation:

• Master - Less than 500GT Domestic Voyage
• Mate - Less than 500GT Domestic Voyage
• Master - Less than 500GT Near Coastal Voyage (less than 4 hours duration only)
